A Woman Scorned

woman-gun.jpg

With more than a year left until the next presidential election, I’m on candidate overload: Can Americans vote for a Black man? Barack’s middle name is Hussein. Like Saddam. Edwards gets expensive haircuts, Hilary is a bitch, Guliani is a fake republican, woman can’t be strong leaders, etc. etc. etc. Its in this last comment that I take pause because the question of strong leadership is a veiled and somewhat PC way to question not whether a woman provide strong moral; leadership and thoughtful counsel, but, in an increasingly violent and vicious world, is she a strong fighter who will do whatever necessary to defend and protect?

I find it mildly amusing that such a thought would even come up considering how history from ancient to today is wrought with women not only on the front line of battle but also as some of the most ruthless. From Cleopatra to the guerilla women warriors in Nicaragua, women have a history of defending their homes, families and countries by any means necessary. With women taking part in suicide bombings in the Middle East as well as being elected into powerful positions around the world, perhaps the warm and fuzzy image of weak women is slowly dissipating, and folks are coming around to the realization that a bitch will fuck you up.

Coined by William Congreve in the 18th Century, the term “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned” has generally been used to define a vindictive bitter woman, spurned by a callous lover, evoking images of Glen Close in Fatal Attraction and Lynn Whitfeild in A Thin Line Between Love & Hate. But lets just imagine for a moment that same wrath put upon someone who hasn’t broken a heart or bruised an ego, but justifiably targeted on one who had killed children, destroyed cities and wrecked financial ruin.

This is certainly not an endorsement of any kind of any specific candidate (because the powers that be have already decided who’s up next but that’s a later convo), just a notion that a woman would do more than sit back and read a book while her family, her country, her home as under attack.

interesting as always greenie, purpose is the common factor that drives a woman to strip away her stereotypical role and act on basic innate human instint. I’m not a killer but I know I’m capable of it if necessary. That whole a woman is an emotional being is long dead, they can be as calculating and precise as need be. Word to wifey.

  4. The-XFacta Says:

Last is the new first is what ya meant right cold??

Anyway, I’ve never voted, may not ever.. I know MLK and all them and what they did for me to even get to vote.. But I also have the right not to vote.. I don’t want jury duty

I would like for Obama to win, will he, probably not, but its unfortunate that he or Hilary can not put their egos aside and run together. What bothers me most is that the media diminishes Obama’s reputation claiming he lacks experience, but last time I checked the most influential president over the last 20 years arguably was Ronald Reagan. He was a radio jockey then an actor!! Life is harder for minorities period.

    >>> Now for the hate- Obama is intelligent he knew what he was getting himself into, and thus far he has been mundane and predictable. He has to be bold to pull this off, shock some people he really has nothing to lose. Oh and the only reason people are donating immeasurable amounts of cash to him is because they now know he’s not going to win unless Hilary puts her foot in their mouth, and that would only be the Democratic nomination. Edwards is irrelevant. >>>last bit of hate- A common perception of women holding prestigious positions is that they’re crazed. My company once had a female COO I would describe working with her like having a bowling alley installed in my head. I am aware that women have a lot to prove, and they must always have their game face on at work but it all comes down to this.. Life is harder for minorities

^^that would be a good look. not entirely likely, but not impossible ether considering only one will get the dem nomination.

  10. Mr.O Says:

Voting does not exempt you from jury duty. I think you shoud vote this year although many believe their votes do not matter, and they may have a point in certain cases, voting shows progression. The more minorites skip the polls the more people will view them as creodonts. $20 word

  11. Jamz (The Politigroe Figya) Says:

I am in a very political city and state, so voting is natural for me. I understand how our voting system works, so I am never too shocked about the outcomes in most cases. I vote because I understand it’s my right, but I also feel that I am speaking for the brothers and sisters that can’t vote for whatever reason…

this country isn’t ready to have a woman at the helm just the same way that they aren’t ready to have a black man at the helm… we forget that on the coasts we’re ready to have change, but the majority of the country that represents the bread basket, bible belt, and all other places inland are stuck thinking that having either one of the two candidates that might actually get the job done well are signs of the devil (I still don’t understand how they co-sign Bush with that mentality, but that’s a different discussion)..

either way the election has already been decided despite this so-called formality just like it has been for the past 30 years if not longer… leaders are puppets that are at beckon call of all the people that really run shit behind the scenes just like rappers… male or female…

is he throwing his hat in the ring? i dont pay as much attention to the primaries as perhaps i should

  23. el_feces_loco Says:

Not yet..I think last I heard..he was waiting on a showdown between the leading dem candidates and the subsequent fallout before he committed to the race, he was a Dem but ran and won NY as a Rep..so I guess he can be anything to anyone at anytime?..but he did spend something like 42 million? on a presidential exploratory committee which is like a dutch master to me.so I guess we’ll see.

    Welcome back, Green Eyes.

In the end, it will all boil down to who has money and who doesn’t. What they say or do now is only to get our vote. No matter the candidate, when elected president, all that will matter are those people with the biggest wallets.

As a woman, I would love to see a woman president. I’m not so sure that Hillary is the ticket though. My mind isn’t made up when it comes to which candidate I would vote for.

I thino Obama could take the primaries, but will he beat whichever republican white dude? I dont think so. Republicans will dig up some pics of him grinding on a white chick at some party and he’ll lose by 20 % of the vote.

I may not vote like X cause the shit is overrated.

I disagree with the notion that America isn’t ready for a woman to lead us. First of all, Bush has shown that anyone elected into office can turn the presidency into a dictatorship with the right amount of smoke screen and a staff full of spin doctors. More importantly to my point is that America has to take what’s given to us. As much emphasis is being placed on the upcoming election, mass public interest in democracy only comes around every four years. Every once in a while we may take a break from the entertainment and celebrity chasin to pump our fist when the gubment steps a bit too far out of line. But the fact that Bush has been able to pump billions of dollars into war and in turn pump arabian pipelines to line his pockets (even after a flick like Farenheit 911 exposed him) shows that ANYTHING is possible in America. So in summation, even a “bitch” like Hilary and a ninja named Hussein has a chance to run this crazy as country given the right push and publicity. Its really a crapshoot as to who’s gonna pull off the bigger miracle, but whoever it is is gonna be an upgrade from the bastard running this country today. Dope post, you’ve been added to the blogroll. Score one for pussy control…
