FYI: Jail Sucks

(pause)

I never thought it would actually become necessary to sate that jail, is in fact, not a happy place to go. That being sent to jail isn’t the equivalent of winning a trip to the Bahamas ore the lottery. Hell, it isn’t even the equivalent of remembering to pack an umbrella when the forecast calls for rain. Jail is bad.

Apparently, however this memo has seemingly not been disturbed throughout Hollywood, as recently an arrest and jail term is more coveted than an Oscar. Between those coke headed white girls Paris, Nicole and Lindsey, to Country star Mindy McCready, to the professional balers Pac Man and Mike “Doghouse” Vick, to our dear rappers Remy, Eve, Busta, Weezy F. Baby, Ja…. jail is the new Vitamin Water.

Call me crazy, but I just don’t get it. Maybe it’s because I got the memo loud and clear via a friend of mine who is in prison, and unfortunately, will be for the rest if his life. As he tells it, it isn’t a fun place to be. It isn’t a badge of honor or vacation, but an incredibly depressing way to spend a day, much les all of them. Regardless of how I know, there is no question in my mind that the freedom I enjoy by waking up whenever I so choose everyday and doing whatever I so chose during the day (the whole alarm clock and job thing not withstanding) is an incredibly treasured gift.

Knowing this, I cant even begin to grasp what on earth these famous idiots are thinking when they knowingly break the law and then respond with a cavalier air to any questions of wrong doing or insistence that they take responsibility. Given how frangible their careers are and how reliant of the public opinion their success is, I simply cannot fathom why they would take such stupid risks that would land them in jail, losing their careers, fame and wealth along with their freedom.

It’s obvious that celebrities exist on different reality lane than the rest of us- their incomes and visibility award them luxuries and perks that we can only imagine. How their warped minds, however, actually allow them to believe that basic laws like “don’t shoot people” and “don’t drive bloody drunk without a license” regardless of whatever brilliant motive for their action that they may come up with, don’t apply to them, is beyond my comprehension.

For the most part-these folks are idiots who can’t see beyond their own egos. Part of me wishes that there was an extra punishment they can receive for just being stupid enough to not realize the opportunities they have been given, the gift that freedom is. Something that clearly states “Damn, you are a dumbass” and is a lesson for not just them, but their idiot celebrity friends and whatever idiot kids and adults that idolize them.

I done it overnight and that alone freaking sucks. Jail is not a place to be. I guess many do not care because they have nothing for themselves. Streets dont have nothing for em so in and out between there and jail is nothing.

As far as famous people, that is something I have no idea why. They have all that luxury life, money, etc and they want to do something stupid and land them behind bars. I just do not get it. I hear that Paris is learning from all this and jail time will get her act together when she is release, but who knows

  3. Sinister Prime Minister Says:

Rich little white girls can’t handle the fame. ie Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie(not full white, but close enough) soon Britney Spears. They’ll be eatin’ each others carpets in jail before you know it. If you can’t handle the riches pass some of that loot to me.

  4. Rey aka Kany-Emo West Says:

    They’re morons.

    Plain and Simple.

I mean, sheeit, Britney’s gone batshit crazy, but at least she’s kept out of rehab and jail.

  5. green eyes Says:

    ^ she did do rehab.

so whats Busta amd Remy’s excuses? Busta got roid rage and Remy…. likes to shoot bitches?

  6. the audience Says:

Fame and fortune does not make you do the stupid shit these people do…it only amplifies the type of person you are, and brings those traits to the forefront, like alcohol.

These mofo’s think the world is their playground, that they can create whatever havoc they want to, as long as they’re home by the time the street light comes on.

^ not true at all… i got nothing but love for my peoples that are locked up. My point is, though, if you have as much too lose as these fools– why risk it by being a dumbass. Shit… even jadakiss admitted what a knucklehead he was when he was caught in dudes car with the guns.

I HEARD jail isn’t as bad as it seems. You get 3 meals a day, a outdoor fitness center, quality uniforms, a buddy or two to share your space with, plenty of drugs and sex, plus it’s pretty exciting to wonder about when you might get shanked while taking a dump!

Why else would folks keep going back…?

    ====================

    So we said:

Their problem, not unlike a majority of entertainers (athletes, actors, etc.) is that they allow their stardom to make them feel as if they’re bullet-proof or immune to the consequences that us normal folk would endure under the same circumstances……

They feel the adoration they receive from their fans translates to society as a whole, and that their celebrity and notariety offers them a free pass…..that all it would take is an autograph and/or photo-op with Joe Cop or Judge Jane and they’re off scot-free……cuz in their eyes, we’re all fans of theirs, and they feel entitled.

We should all feel honored to be in their presence, even if it’s in the local precinct.

  21. Mr.O Says:

Many people struggle with newfound financial success or celebrity. Personally growing up I came into money and it changed everything, where you go, how people view you, speak to you. Can you imagine everyone saying (Yes) to you all the time? Everyone has an opinion until they actually live it. So what do you do, you try your best to hold on to your old friends (identity) We are all affected by our upbringing and the cultures that molded us. Unfortunately, poverty is interconnected with crime and a sudden elevation of fame and fortune has to be a difficult process to handle. I do not condone the behavior of many of the people you listed but I understand them.

  22. green eyes Says:

Mr. O, coming up as I did, I understnd it as well. I totally get that we all fuck up and make mistakes as we are building and growing. However, its the constant repeat of those same actions and mistakes where my sympathy begins to wane.

Good post Greenie, the thing is the clink is viewed as a rite of passage for young black men. Have no idea why but it is. Fuck prison. And celebrities just got too much money around them to take anything seriously hence the trips to the joint.

  25. Big Homie Says:

The place I was at served literally bread and cheese. I thought that was just an over exaggertion but they literally tried to serve me bread and cheese. They served those lil milk pints they serve in school for beverage. Place stunk since they had inmates come in and sweet and mop the floor every 3 hours. I was in a cell with other people…it was more of a drunk tank. It was for my DWI.

I am sure the Penn is worst. God forbid I end up there.

  26. Big Homie Says:
