Killer Kids = Hip Hop??

children-guns-1.JPG

When the kid in the picture above is a teenager who listens exclusively to Marilyn Manson, dresses like a vampire reject, hates people and shots up his school before ending his own sad, miserable, self involved life, please believe it’ll be 50 cents fault. Or maybe at that point, it’ll be Marquise’s fault.

When the shooting at Cleveland’s Success Tech took place last week, the first assumption was “ah shit, another white kid went berserk” (Don’t front all PC know, you know you thought it too). When you saw the pictures of the mourning kids, and noted they were Blacker than expected, I have no doubt it gave you the same pause that it gave me. When a day later it was revealed that the shooter was in fact white, the school just happened to be predominantly Black, it made sense. At least as much sense as a school shooting can ever make.

Unless, of course you were FOX radio Host John Gibson, who used the tragedy as an opportunity to take a swing at everyone’s favorite scapegoat, Hip Hop, and get his own low rated show some free publicity. Gibson, however should invest is some Tiger Balm, because he’s reaching so far to make these connections he’s sure to hyper extend his common sense, which can lead to some painful cramping.

According to this idiot- he knew the shooter was white because he killed himself. Black shooters, which are apparently synonymous with Hip Hop in his vocabulary, don’t commit suicide, but instead walk away after their kill:

“I’m being accused of being a racist for making this observation about an issue we’ve been talking about here for over a year, and that is the black-on-black boundaries of the African-American community,” he said. “They [African-Americans] don’t shoot somebody and then say, ‘Oh, I’m so unhappy. This is such a scar on my soul, I’ve got to shoot myself in the head.’ Am I right about that or wrong about that?..Gangster shooters don’t do that. They’re happy they got off the first shot. They’re happy they killed the guy they were aiming at. They get in their car, and they move on down the road, probably looking over their shoulders a little bit.” (from allhiphop.com)

Hmmm. See, I’ve read this story several times,, and I think I have literally killed a few brain cells each time trying to follow what he was saying, because, you see…it seems to me as though this fool is actually saying that a crazy as white kid who feels bad about getting picked on in school and shoots it u p before killing himself is somehow nobler than the “Hip Hop Gangsta” that shoots and moves on. If I recall correctly, it was logic on this line that got Bill Maher kicked off of ABC following 9/11.

Regardless, I can’t see any way of thinking that would celebrate kids killing anyone, including themselves. Instead of using Hip Hop or even Marilyn Manson (which this kid apparently did in fact listen to) as a scapegoat, we need to take a good, hard look at figure out not only the reason that violence has permeated this society so abundantly, but why we have such a tolerance as well.

But here’s a thought- it started long before Hip Hop.

“cause guns made a man out of a pussy from around my way, who usually wouldn’t have a fucking thing to say”. -pos.

it’s nothing new except for the accessibility to firearms. you think a kid who got bullied had the voice of a firearm before this age? nope. but there is a new generation of gun-toting pussies from around all our ways, and honestly, they are the ones to fear. reminds me of the parking lot scene in “swingers”, or the beretta-9’s verse off gza’s legend of the liquid sword where he says (and i paraphrase), “it’s 2003 motherfucker i refuse to box”. it’s strange because you know the first time i heard some shit like this in the mainstream? the intro to ready to die, that’s when.

    nice post green.

  2. green eyes Says:

thanks thor. its true– guns are so easy to get these days. that little retard in boston who wanted to shoot up some school had an arsenal- half of them purchased by his own mother. WTF??

  3. Skimaskway Says:

So he’s saying that somehow it more morally wrong for a black person to shoot some people and live compared to a white kid taking kids lives and then committing suicide. So that act of sucide somehow changes the motive and should make people look at it from a different point of view? Racism is runing rampent these days, especially in the media, I say fuck em all though.

  4. Big Homie Says:

Classic post Greens. Whenever violence is caused, people always want to blame Hip Hop because its an easy target. John Gibson is a freaking idiot that clearly has no idea what the hell he is talking about. And yes this all started way before Hip Hop

  5. Skimaskway Says:

Back in the day when I was a lil’ small kid I got bullied and I did was box it out, stomped some niggas out, that was the only way to gain respect, never did the thought of a firearm cross my mind at that age. Now You can’t even whoop somebody ass without them running home and picking up the hammer. Whats wrong with these kids, niggas in general can’t take losses. When a fights over its over, you can have a rematch but don’t run home and pick up the glock like a little girl.

Now when we talking about grown man business like the mob and some shit ala the wire, then yes firearms may be neccessary. But not with this school shit.

  6. green eyes Says:

Big Homie, Skim, thanks. and cosign– when i first read what Gibson was saying my only thought was WTF? How in the hell did he come up with this.

Skim.. yes again- I was talking to my friend today and he was saying the same thing- back in the day- you pounded it out and moved on. It was a growing up ritual all little boys (and some butchy chicks) went through.

All of the Right Wing bastards on the Fox News Channel can goto Hell! Later I’ll tell you how I really feel.

  8. E aka FidelCa$hflow Says:

I act intentionally nice around the creepy loner kids for these exact reasons; I just figure if you say hi (no homo) to these weirdos they might remember and spare you when they go bezerk.

sidenote: kids still listen to Marlyin Manosn, really? So he was a loser and his taste in music was still stuck in the 90’s

  9. Shanti Says:

i hate how he uses african american shooters and gangster shoots interchangeably…like being black is in some way synonymous with being a gangster. this guy is an idiot and he’s just jumping on the bandwagon of “let me say something blatantly racist, cause controversy and get ratings. the other day on nahright cold said( i believe it was cold who said this) that it seemed like we are going back in time. i’m going to have to agree. the open hate and racism toward black people (some mask it with hate toward hip hop but we are smart enough to read between the lines) has been ridiculous lately. they are fighting us on all sides, from hanging nooses, to giving kids more time in prison, to going directly at hip hop culture which in many ways reflects certain aspects of black culture.

shit is outrageous. did john gibson even care about the people who were hurt or the life that was taken by this kid @ the cleveland high school? did he show any remorse toward the kids who had to witness such a tragedy? oh i forgot, according to his logic, they’re just black kids who should be accustomed to seeing folks shot down in cold blood.

preach Shanti. Its true though, it is as if America’s racist agenda was taken off “subtle” lately and everything is full charged and blatant. And yet its still labeled as pranks, mean spirited jokes, etc. If a swastika was spray painted on a school, on someone’s work space, etc, it sure as hell would be looked at as a “hate crime” not a “prank”. A noose is th exact same thing.

  12. Jamz Says:

It’s funny how the majority of the people that blame hip-hop for the world’s travesties don’t even listen to hip-hop really! Until everyone starts rapping like Will Smith and Young MC the bashing of hip-hop will never end.

  13. lurker aka maddhatter Says:

man i cant fucking win, this post is too long for my lazy ass to read, either way i think i got the point , nice job greenzies

  14. Mark Twain Fame Says:

damn good post greenie. telling the truth, its def not the fact of what music they listen to, its the fact of what the parents teach them and how they watch what they kids do…its the parenting! thats the cause of these shootings…shitty parenting.

  15. cMac Says:

Anybody know who John Wayne is?

Did he used to kill himself every episode, or did he walk away?

Just a little something that the Atlanta Journal-Constitution mentioned this morning when referring to TI

Nice post green, I see we’re both adressing these shootings.

… violence has permeated THIS society so abundantly, because the founders and current “leaders” of this forsaken country, are degenerate devils … their past, present, current, and future agenda is to create confusion and anarchy, create war and pestilence, and to Divide and Conquer those who know and speak truth about these totalitarian tactics … the behavior of America’s youth is a reflection of the current leadership … you dont like it, or agree with it ? … kill it … it’s the European/Anglo-American/Israeli way …

  17. G7 Says:

Why does music, especially hip hop take so much blame for society’s ills? people are way more influenced by movies than music. when a shoot em up, gunz blazin’ movie comes out nobody says shyt. Movies are making millions at the box office every weekend steady. Meanwhile the hip hop music that most people point the finger at these days are barely moving units, except for a few exceptions. Movies are far greater a bigger influence. But if you’re black in a movie holding a gun we get the same criticism that others don’t. It’s a lose-lose situation.

Also, John Gibson puts the cracker in cracka-ass motherfuckin’ cracker. One time he told white Americans it was their duty to breed so as to prevent white people from becoming a minority. At this point in time I’d like to extend an invitation to all the black folks in America: Consider Canada. Yes, it’s cold, but at least here no one will hate you unless you’re also French.

^^Good point. Everyone hates the French more than anything. Rightly so too. Case in point : French Kevin.

Nice post greenie. These suckas need to take a good look in the mirror and realize this cycle of violence was introduced to us by them. We don’t make guns, dammit. I don’t see them rallying against Smith and Wesson for having excess guns on the market. BTW I’d rather have my sons listen to Nas than Marilyn Manson anyday. Faux News at it’s finest….
