What up Daddy

A few years ago, on Mother’s Day interestingly enough, I was working, thus not with my own mother, but sitting with my boy Tracy who commented to    the effect that if it was Father’s Day it would be more aptly titled “Motherfuckers Day.” Unfortunately I could only agree and we brooded a moment on fathers. Shortly after our convo, he found out he was going to be father and Father’s Day took on a whole new meaning. (And yes, for the record I am completely aware that many of my posts start with non-sequiturs, now ask me if I care.)

Sadly in America society, the fathers that get the most attention aren’t truly fathers as much as sperm donors. Their ineptitudes have shadowed the many more men out there leading households, raising children and making the world a better place.

To try and make up for the 364 days of the year fathers aren’t given their just due, I’m officially declaring it Fathers Day Weekend at Southern Comfort.   This is for all of the real Dads out there.  Shout out landLORD, Icon, X, Fuxie, Buddha, BRight, Tracy and the rest who I may have forgotten to mention… this one’s on me.
